I enjoyed this course. More so than with other courses, I was able to insert myself into the projects, and into the weekly discussions. I was able to see myself working at Southwest (My final project one subject), adding to the decision making process, and got a good sense of what it would be like to be a part of the culture. I was able to make correlations between Southwest, and some of the companies I have been a part of. I was able to do the same with Kodak, my second final project. This time though, I was saw the bad and ugly of what life there was like. When the experts explained what was wrong, I could see where other companies went wrong, and got the pit in my stomach from the dread of experiencing what Kodak employees experienced.

My favorite module/discussion was number 5. It was on management styles and affecting change. These are huge aspects that I have had a greater interest in for some time. I have worked for various managers, and as I have entered the management realm, I have tried to emulation some, and be as far removed from others as possible. Being a good motivator, encouraging progress, while giving people freedom to be themselves, yet having a backbone and have people accept and enjoy you as their leader. This is the mix that makes a leader and manger successful. I again was able to insert myself into the lesson, seeing where I can improve, and a couple of areas I am doing well.

Hi everyone!
It’s been a crazy week this week and I’m getting a little late start. We had a death in the family and I’m in the woods in Mississippi lol.
I really enjoyed this course and learning the things I learned. I liked learning about the different companies and the different ways they are ran. I really enjoyed learning about the different ways companies motivate their employees. I also enjoyed learning about the P-O-L-C framework. I also really liked how the projects and milestones were broken up into different assignments. This really helped me and also let me get a better understanding of what I was learning. I wish everyone the best!
