Organizational Behaviour – “People Challenge” Interview and Analysis

Paper details:

“People Challenge” Interview and Analysis This assignment involves interviewing a person who is currently working. The individual can be a “boss” of others (director, manager, supervisor, team leader) or someone who is managed by another. The goal of this interview is to: understand the most significant people related challenge the person is currently facing at work; and provide practical responses/solutions that would help resolve this challenge. When trying to find someone to interview, explain to them that you are taking a course in Organizational Behavior and describe some of the key concepts we are studying (motivation, job satisfaction, engagement, conflict, decision making, leadership…) Ask them to tell you about a problem/issue they are facing in their working relationships with others. Probe as deeply as possible, follow up with questions. Because of the possible confidential nature of your discussions, you may want to interview someone outside of your own organization, however I will leave that to your discretion. To protect confidentiality you can make up individual and company names. Write up your impression of the interview, including (but not limited to) a summary of the key issue/problem, what the interviewee has already tried to resolve it, specific recommendations you would make (this is very important!), the rationale behind your recommendations, and whether your interview gives you a different perspective about individual behaviors at work. There is no minimum/maximum page requirement for this assignment, however, 5 pages (double spaced, 12 point font, one inch margins) generally is about right.
