Method of Organization: Monroe’s Motivated Sequence

Attention 1. Story of Loretta Olson, an 85-year-old woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

  2. Like this woman, many elderly people can live alone but need help with the cleaning, food preparation and transportation.

  2. That high suicide rate stems from three major causes.

    b. hopelessness

B. Right here in Madison, Independent Living provides companionship and household assistance for elderly people who live at home.

A. You decide how much time to volunteer based on your individual schedule.

B. You will experience great personal gratification by helping people less fortunate than yourself.

C. You can receive financial assistance for participating in some volunteer programs.

Conclusion:
Action 1. 1 am urging you to volunteer time to help needy elderly people remain independent in their homes. I have a list of local volunteer agencies to give to you.

11. Loretta Olson, and millions like her, will be forever thankful for your efforts.
