According to Wren T. (1995). Theory Y encourages individual growth, responsibility and provides a sense of achievement to the individual. It is important to be flexible and adaptable to be supportive and to encourage growth opportunity for individuals whenever possible. This is consistent with McGregor’s Theory Y assumptions, regarding managing people. Theory X relates more to task oriented management.
