War and Children
This week, we’re examining the effects of conflict. Drawing from the Danopoulos, Kapor-Stanulovic, and Skandalis (2012) article, please answer the questions below:
What impact does war have on children? Please choose one specific effect and describe its logic. Again, begin with a general discussion of war, its definition in International Relations, and its effects on children. Secondly, choose one instance of a war and investigate it in respect to its effect on children caught in the midst of the conflict. You don’t have to stick with the wars discussed in the readings. you can challenge yourself to use the conceptual framework provided by those readings and apply it to a war which you investigate on your own.
In this particular example of the war you chose, what role did the NGOs play in mitigating the impact of the conflict on children you explained above?
