American Corrections 1700-1900’s

Identify and describe at least one historically significant event in the timeline of American corrections from the 1700’s, 1800’s, and 1900’s (18th, 19th and 20th Centuries). For the event in each century, at a minimum, describe the following:

- What makes it historically important to corrections in America?
- What impact does that event still have on corrections today, if any?
