  • Visit the Web site of your state. Search for a recent Single Audit Report. Write a brief summary of the auditors’ findings and any questioned costs.

  • Discuss whether you believe the Single Audit Reports are a sufficient tool to prevent state and local governments from wasting (or failing to efficiently use) federal grants. Do you think that the federal government should do more than they already do to protect the taxpayers’ money? If yes, discuss what might be done. If no, tell why the current situation is sufficient.
