Need management help with Uk firms agreeing that blind hiring cuts discrimination

In standardized testing and in many online essay examinations such as the bar examination, the identity of the student is unknown until the result in finalized. In the UK, a few companies and some government employment have begun using “name blind” hiring to reduce discrimination. The idea here is that employers would not be able to identify the gender, race, nationality, or perceived religion until after the applicant had been selected for an interview. Do you think that this is something that might be helpful in the hiring process in America? What could some of the problems be?
