REQUIREMENTS
Page length: 6 (4.5 text, 1 works cited)
• Source requirement: 2 lit choice, dictionary
• In text quote requirement: Max 7 (includes definition) follow ICE
• Length of each quotation: 1-3 lines within your paragraph
• No use of: 1st person pronouns, Wikipedia, quotes in intro & conclusion, more than one quote per paragraph
DIRECTIONS
• Choose one of the short stories or poems we have gone over in class.
-Please use: “The Most Dangerous Game”.
• Choose one of the following themes:
-Desire
-Rebellion
-Insanity
-Disconnection
-Depression
-Fear
• Define that theme using dictionary (OED, Merriam-Webster’s)
• Explain, briefly, the historical significance or the innovative technique of the piece
• Point out 5-6 symbols from the text to prove the story has that theme
TIPS
• Symbols can be anything, refer to class notes for ideas
• Never refer to the author as the speaker or the author’s life in the essay
