Indeed, nursing shortage is a real problem. This problem is projected to increase if drastic measures are not taken. Therefore, many states including New York, where I come from are taking crucial steps to address the shortage. Among them is increasing the number of students enrolling in nursing schools. One way through which this initiative is being undertaken is through nursing schools forming strategic partnerships and seeking private support to expand the student capacity. Having more resources is critical for maintaining a high quality of nursing education. The other way of increasing enrollment is through offering education loans and grants to students pursuing nursing courses. This initiative is accomplished through joint efforts by both public and private sectors. Hence, in few years to come a higher number of nursing graduates will be joining the workforce.
