Requirements:

• APA format
• Typed: 1-inch margins and a 12pt. Times New Roman font.
• Double spaced
• Title Page​ (1 page) o Title of your research proposal

o Your Name

• Methods Section:​ Participants, Materials, Procedure
• Appendix Section: Consent Form, Assent Form/dialogue requesting for consent from minor to​ participate, any stimuli or materials that you would use for your experiment (i.e. your intervention materials).

 

For the Methods Section, be sure to include the following parts.

 

• Participants​: (where will you get the data from and how will you collect it)
  1. Who is your population of interest? (unit of analysis)
  2. State how you will get consent and from whom for example:

Parental consent will be required as children are minors (see Appendix 1 for consent forms).

1. Sampling techniques
2. What sampling frame will you use to select your sample?
3. How many people will you select from the population as your sample ii. What sampling technique will you use?
   1. simple random sample
   2. cluster sample 3. stratified sample 4.
   3. Where will your experiment be conducted? Lab/Field (be specific (example:

classroom)

 

• Materials

1. How do you plan to operationalize your concepts?
2. What is your independent variable?
3. how is it measured? ii. What is your dependent variable?
4. how is it measured?
5. What materials will you use? Intervention – how will you test that it worked? etc.
6. Provide samples in your appendix

 

• Procedures

1. How will your study be conducted (step by step)
2. Experiment
   1. How will the sample be divided into control and experiment groups
   2. How will you implement your independent variable(s)?
   3. How will you record the effect of the independent variable on the response variable (dependent variable)?

 

For the Appendix section, be sure to include applicable consent forms, information on your intervention and other materials.
