Annotated Bibliography for the Article Review

PSY 600 Annotated Bibliography for the Article Review Final Paper

This week, you will research and create an annotated bibliography of five peer-reviewed articles that were published within the last 10 years and relate to the article you selected in Week Two for your Article Review. The peer-reviewed articles you select should be researched in the Ashford University Library and represent a variety of viewpoints on the subject matter. They may support or refute the information presented in your chosen article for review. Each of the peer-reviewed articles must include a complete reference that is correctly formatted in APA style as outlined by the Ashford Writing Center and an annotation of five to six well-developed sentences in your own words that summarize the source and describe its applicability to your selected topic. Please note that no sections from the abstracts of the articles should be included in your annotation.
In your annotation for each peer-reviewed article, analyze psychology as a science as it is presented in the article and explain how it relates to this particular topic. Assess the professional roles presented in the article and describe how they relate to the roles as presented in the article you have chosen for review. Explain any psychological theoretical perspectives presented in the article and how they either support or refute the information provided in the review article. Evaluate contemporary applications of psychology as they are described in the article and compare these to the descriptions within the article for review.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality

Privileged communication is a legal concept that prohibits the disclosure of confidential communications, while referring to confidentiality as the ethical responsibility of professionals to safeguard clients from unauthorized disclosures. This is one example of an important distinction that spans the legalities and ethical nature of professional practice. An understanding of these distinctions is not only characteristic of a responsible professional, but is also vital to the provision of ethically and legally accountable services in clients’ best interests.

Discuss the differences between confidentiality, privacy, and privileged communication, as well as the differences between the duty to warn and duty to protect. What would you think is the most important aspect of confidentiality as it relates to your profession?

Present a scenario in which you discuss some of your ideas in simple and clear language, as though you were having an actual discussion with a colleague who was in training. Then, discuss situations in which it is legally required that you breach confidentiality. Your initial post should be at least 300 words in length. Respond to at least two of your classmatesby Day 7.

What is an operating system

To those who transported goods with arms and legs, the wheel appeared to be high technology at one point in time

To those who transported goods with arms and legs, the wheel appeared to be high technology at one point in time. Today, technology is all around us—and we need to learn how to use the new technologies in ways that make our tasks easier. For this class, we will focus on digital information technologies we use for school and daily life.

Considering how different people use and respond to technology, answer the following questions:

  • Describe how you use information in your daily life. Specifically, how do you use technology in your communications, whether at work, home, or school?
  • How has the World Wide Web and accompanying technologies (cell phones, e-mail, social media, etc.) changed the way society works with, handles, and interprets information?
  • Does computer ownership affect your ability to communicate?

Consider the following when answering:

  • What is an operating system? What operating system is on your computer? (To answer this question, search for “operating systems” on the Internet. Based on the information that is displayed on the screen, identify which operating system is on your computer.)
  • What is RAM? How much RAM do you have on your computer? (To answer this question, search for “system properties” within your computer system; this will tell you how much RAM you have in your system.) Can you update your RAM on the computer you have? (To find out this information, you can do either of the following:
    1. Visit the website of the company that made your computer and search for this information.
    2. Call a local store that sells computers and tell the executives there that you want to upgrade your RAM and you want to know if it is possible with the computer system you have.)
  • What is software? What software packages do you have on your computer that will help you with college? (To find out about this, you can call a local store that sells computers and ask them to assist you in finding this answer. You can also look at the “Programs” or “All Programs” folder on your computer and list out the programs you have.)

You will need to do research outside of this course to justify, support, and expand on your response.  APA format

Your initial response should be at least 150 words

Emotional intelligence and leadership

In this assignment, you will be creating a personality portfolio based on the results of your six leadership assessments that you self-select via an Internet search

In this assignment, you will be creating a personality portfolio based on the results of your six leadership assessments that you self-select via an Internet search. The importance of knowing your leadership style, strengths, weaknesses, and which style is best suited for managing change will be imperative to your success in industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology, whatever role you take on.

Specifically, write an 8- to 10-page report including the following:

  • Self-select six leadership assessments via an Internet search. Take the assessments and identify trends and patterns in your strengths and weaknesses indicated by the results of the assessments. Describe these patterns and trends in your report. You must choose assessments that include:
    • Leadership and ethics
    • Emotional intelligence and leadership
    • Diversity and leadership
    • Leadership styles
    • And two other choices**
  • Develop an action plan to address the weaknesses you discovered and how you might use your strengths to overcome the weaknesses.
  • Identify a leadership style that is best suited for managing organizational change. Compare and contrast your style with this leadership profile best suited for managing change in organizations.
  • Indicate to your potential client why your leadership style is best suited for this company (identify one or use your first scenario in RA 1), including how you could be successful in assisting with managing change within the company.

Your final deliverable should be an 8- to 10-page document in Microsoft Word, utilizing a minimum of eight scholarly sources. The use of a table to display assessment results is encouraged. Apply APA standards for citations and references on slides.

** Free leadership assessments found online do not always publish reliable and valid data. In practice, as an industrial/organizational (I/O) professional, you will always want to ensure that you use measures that are appropriate for your sample and purpose. Equally important, you will want to ensure that the measures you are using have established reliability and validity. Frequently, these types of measures require usage fees. For convenience and to avoid potential fees, this assignment is allowing you to use free online leadership assessments.
