  1. Context (20 points):
    1. Name of the document you chose to analyze
    2. Who is the creator of the document?
    3. Briefly describe the creator of the document. (To answer this question, you may need to use information obtained from the introduction to the source, or other course materials such as the textbook or Intellipath.
    4. When and where was the document created? (Again, you may need to use information obtained from the introduction to the source, or other course materials such as the Lib Guide, Intellipath, or your instructor.)
  2. Summary (20 points):

    2. Does this source support what you already know about the topic? If so, how? Or does this source change the way you think about this topic? If so, how?

Peer Responses: Respond to at least 2 of your fellow classmates about their initial discussion post. To help you with your discussion, please consider the following questions:

  • What did you learn from your classmate’s posting?
  • Are there connections between what you learned from your source and what you learned about their source?
  • What is one interesting thing you learned from your fellow student’s post?
  • What clarifications do you need regarding the posting?

Topic List: Choose one of the following documents to complete this assignment

History .

You need to provide an introduction, a short summary, analysis, and a conclusion. The rest of the paper must link the film to World history. Much of the review should focus on analysis—the arguments presented and whether the film portrays history accurately and why. This will lead you to the ranking for the film—excellent, good, poor? You can also use numerical values and justify your ranking. As you analyze the film, you will need to cite some segments to support your arguments. You can also bring in the material from class materials and any outside material you may have. Cite your sources. Please refer to the film review rubric below.

Applied Behavior Analysis

As part of the requirements for this course, you will complete a research paper on a behavior of interest to you (Aggression in Autism Spectrum Disorder). In Unit 3, you identified your topic and got your instructor’s approval. Use the assignments you have completed during the course as possible resources for completing your paper. You must synthesize the findings of at least five recent journal articles in your final paper.

Modeling the Struggle of Writing

Prompt:
One of the first articles I had published in an NCTE journal was titled A Framework for Choosing Topics for, with, and by Adolescent Writers.
Think about this along with Kelly Gallagher’s statement, ” The greatest writing teachers I’ve ever met were all people who wrote.” Do you agree? How do/can you write to your students, write with your students, and release your students (and yourself) to write independently?

Write around 3 paragraphs, APA format

Discussion Two, Informational Writing

View
Writing Next to an Infographic, chapter 7 Gallagher & Kittel, p. 174

Prompt:
Pablo Friere’s famous quote, that in order “to read the word, you must first be able to read the world” necessitates English teachers to teach their students how to read the world as it is presented in visual formats. Students receive a lot of information through infographics. As such, they need to be able to both deconstruct and question infographics, as well as create their own.

How do you use, or plan to use infographics in the unit you are developing? After watching the video, what are some long-term reading and writing applications Penny Kittel is teaching the students? Note on page 174 Gallagher and Kittel stress it is important to ask both what the infographic says, as well as what it does not say.

Write around 3 -4 paragraphs, APA format

Discussion

This week you have read about psychological factors related to well-being and how those factors relate to physical and cognitive health. Next week you will read about the social and cultural lives of older adults.

As a developmental psychologist, our hallmark method used to examine change over time is the longitudinal study in which the same people are studied over the span of many years, and we record what changes occur.

For this discussion you will have the opportunity to learn about the correlates of happiness from a 75-year examination of adult development. Before you begin your discussion this week, take a few minutes to watch What Makes a Good Life? Lessons from the Longest Study on Happiness and Older People are Happier. If you want to dig a bit deeper, you can review the transcripts for the first and second TED talks.

Based on what you read this week, and learned from this discussion, what factors are essential for health and happiness? How do those factors contradict with things prioritized during young and middle adulthood? What challenges are there to maximizing those factors for older adults?

Note: min 500 words. I’ll send you thing which I have wrote so far, you can use it or improve it with your ideas.

Annotated Bibliography

DESCRIPTION (AND STEP BY STEP)

This Part 4 assignment asks you to annotate the three sources you identified (I provide my 3 sources down below) in your Project 1 Part 3 assignment and compile the annotations into an informal annotated bibliography. After writing the annotations, you will include an introductory paragraph and preliminary thesis statement that identifies the area of research and your initial findings.

STEP BY STEP

Step 1. For each source, your annotation will include two paragraphs (approximately 300 words total). The first paragraph will summarize the source’s key ideas. The second annotation paragraph will address the credibility of the source and note the links, patterns, similarities, and/or variances between the source and the other two sources. Use the 4-sentence rhetorical summary model addressed in Project 1 Part 1.

Step 2. After you have compiled your annotations and synthesized their arguments and drawn preliminary conclusions about your subtopic, you are ready to write your introduction. This opening paragraph should introduce your reader to your subtopic area and identify what people/stakeholders might be interested in or influenced by your subtopic. The introduction will briefly explain why this research is important. To conclude the introduction, you will (a) represent your initial findings based on the research compiled in the annotated bibliography and (b) write a preliminary thesis statement that begins to frame these findings.

When writing your introduction, remember that you are still in the process of researching your subtopic. This means that your information will be brief, the conclusions you draw will be preliminary, and the thesis you compose will be representative of initial trends in ongoing research. Do not worry; you don’t have to have all the answers yet!

In this assignment, we do need to write two paragraph for every source.

The first paraghraph should be writen as I will attach in first image(9426)

The second paraghraph should be written as I will attach in second image(9427)

I prefer to you start with annotation, then back to write introduction.

The introduction should include the relationship between three sources and have preliminary thesis statement.

I also provide an example of how the final paper should look and the citation should be MLA.
